Press Conference in Columbus, Ohio scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 14th at the Holiday Inn on North High Street, Columbus, OH. Apr. 18 The 911 Industry Alliance (9IA) late last week asked the Ohio Public Utilities Commission to move forward with launching a formal rulemaking to set standards governing next-generation "911" systems, backing a petition filed last month by the Ohio chapters of the National Emergency Number Association and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials. Apr. 16 ClintonAdditional 9-1-1 funding has been requested by Senator Clinton. This funding is being requested in the Transportation and Commerce budgets. Apr. 10 InterAct a leading CAD, RMS and 911 solutions provider joins the 9-1-1 Alliance. Jennifer Filipowski
Executive Vice President, Marketing will be representing InterAct at the association along with participation from Ted Collins, InterAct's CEO.
Apr. 10 The U.S. Senate today adopted endorsing April as National 9-1-1 Education Month. The resolution, sponsored by Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus Co-Chairs: Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK), puts Congress behind a national effort. Kevin Murray, 9IA Vice-Chairman is quoted in the release.
Apr. 1 April is 9-1-1 Education month. Check out the press release or the E9-1-1 Institute site for what will be happening in the month of April to help educate the public.
Mar. 27 See the upcoming events where the 9IA will be working across the country. The association will travel to Missouri, Ohio and Colorado to help promote public safety.

Mar. 5 On Wednesday, March 5, 2008, the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance (9IA) presented its findings of the report on the health of the 9-1-1 Emergency Network. Full press release. See NBC coverage of report release.
Mar. 4 9IA distributes report to public safety officials attending the NENA, "9-1-1 Goes to Washington" event in D.C. today, so that they can bring them to their respective legislators when they meet on March 5th.
