The 911 Industry Alliance (9IA) late last week asked the Ohio Public Utilities Commission to move forward with launching a formal rulemaking to set standards governing next-generation "911" systems, backing a petition filed last month by the Ohio chapters of the National Emergency Number Association and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.
